What's Included

Expert Instructors: Our experienced instructors are passionate about helping you learn to surf. They’ll walk you through the surfing basics—from how to position yourself on the board to how to maintain balance and ride the wave with ease.

Hands-On Help: For your first few rides, your instructor will assist you on the wave, helping you find your balance and ensuring you feel comfortable on the wave.

Personalized Instruction: We know that learning to surf can feel challenging at first, which is why our instructors go the extra mile to help you succeed. For your first ride, instructors will get on the wave with you, providing hands-on assistance to help you find your balance and catch your wave with confidence.

Helmet & Soft-Top Boards: For your first 3 waves, you’ll be provided with a helmet and soft-top board, ensuring a safe and smooth start to your surfing journey.

Instructor Support: You’ll receive guidance from our expert instructors who will help you get into the right position, balance, and navigate your ride.

Step-by-Step Learning: We’ll guide you on how to enjoy the wave, giving you a solid foundation for future sessions.

Check-in Details

  • Check-in at Guest Services located on the Wave Deck (next to WaveBar) in front of the wave pool.
  • Recommend arriving and checking in 30 minute prior to your scheduled surf session.
  • Surf Orientation starts 15 minutes prior to surf time scheduled.

Special requirements

  • Safety First: Helmets and soft-top boards are mandatory for your first three waves, ensuring you stay safe and comfortable as you learn.

  • Riders must be 10years or older and 80lbs

  • Please be sure to complete your activity waiver linked to your ticket confirmation email prior to arrival for Express Booking Check-In Services.

  • Able to swim/Comfortable in turbulent water
  • Adequate physical fitness (as evaluated by the surf coaches)

Cancellations

48 Hours in advance:

For bookings made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai to be eligible for a refund of the amount paid, less a $5 administrative fee per transaction, you must call 808-515-7873 or visit Launch to confirm your cancellation and/or reschedule no less than 48 hours before the scheduled activity (surf, paddle, lesson, scheduled pick-up time, or other product/service booking). Any bookings cancelled within 48-hours or no-shows will result in a 100% forfeiture of the amount paid.

24 Hours in advance:

For bookings made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai to be eligible for re-booking or receive the transaction amount, less a $5 administrative fee per transaction, you must call 808-515-7873 or visit Launch no less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity to confirm your re-booking or gift card request. Any bookings not rebooked within 24 hours or no-shows will result in a 100% forfeiture of the amount paid.

Third Party Sellers:

For bookings not made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai, refund inquiries must be sent to the purchasing agent, agency, or site you booked through and must adhere to their rules and restrictions.

Groups & Programs:

Bookings for Group Events, Na Opio Kai, Wai Kai Surf Academy/Lessons, or other specialty clinics – please refer to the specific cancellation policies and terms identified for those programs.

Safety & Weather

The safety of our guests is our number one priority and weather conditions are always taken into consideration. The LineUp at Wai Kai reserves the right to cancel any reservation if conditions are deemed unsafe (e.g. high winds or lightning). If so, we will reschedule or provide a refund to for the activity that was cancelled. Rescheduling and gift cards will only be issued if their experience is limited to 2 hours or less and/or less than 50% of the activity time slot. 2 hours or more than 50% off activity time slots will not be eligible for any refund compensation.

Other

Wai Kai reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel any booking at any time, for any reason. In the event of a cancellation, guests will be offered alternative booking options or a full refund.
