Experience the wonder of humpback whales up close on a relaxing afternoon sail along O‘ahu’s stunning west coast. Departing from Wai‘anae Small Boat Harbor at 1:30 PM, this two-hour cruise offers incredible views of the Pacific and the majestic Wai‘anae mountain range.
Watch for whales breaching, tail-slapping, and spouting as our knowledgeable crew shares fascinating insights about their annual migration and behavior. Whale sightings are guaranteed — if no whales are seen, you’re invited to join us again free of charge.

Check-in Details
- Departure Time: 1:30 PM
- Arrival Time: Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure (by 1:10 PM) to allow time for check-in and boarding.
- Location: Waianae Harbor, 85-491 Farrington Hwy, Waianae, HI 96792
- Check-In Process: Look for the Hawaii Nautical sign outside our slip.
- Parking: Free parking is available at Waianae Harbor. We recommend arriving early to secure a spot and do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
- Boarding: Boarding closes 10 minutes before departure. Guests arriving late may not be able to join the tour.
What to bring
- Sunglasses and a hat for sun protection
- Reef-safe sunscreen (no sprays, please apply before boarding)
- Binoculars for an even closer view of the whales
- Reusable water bottle (to help reduce plastic waste — we also have water onboard)
- Optional: Camera or phone for photos and videos... don’t forget to tag us @hawaiinautical!
Do I need any sailing experience?
No experience is required! Our friendly crew handles everything so you can relax, enjoy the views, and focus on spotting whales.
Are drinks and food included?
Yes. Enjoy complimentary refreshments from our full premium bar, featuring tropical cocktails, beer, wine, soda, juice, and water. Light snacks are also served on board.
Can children join the tour?
Absolutely! This sail is family-friendly and safe for guests of all ages. Life jackets are available for everyone.
Where does the tour depart from?
We depart from Wai‘anae Small Boat Harbor, located on O‘ahu’s beautiful west side.
What time should I arrive?
Please check in 20 minutes before departure to allow time to park and board.
Is parking available?
Yes. Complimentary parking is available at Wai‘anae Small Boat Harbor.
Will I definitely see whales?
Yes! Whale sightings are guaranteed — if no whales are seen, you’re invited to join us again free of charge on another whale watch sail.
What should I bring?
Bring a light jacket or sweater, sunglasses or a hat, reef-safe sunscreen (no sprays), and binoculars for the best whale-viewing experience. Optional: camera or phone for photos and videos... don’t forget to tag us @hawaiinautical!
What if I get seasick?
Our catamaran is large and very stable, which helps minimize motion on the water. If you start to feel unwell, our trained crew is happy to assist and will do their best to make you comfortable throughout the trip.
If your tour is cancelled due to the captain’s discretion and/or weather, then you will receive a full refund or option to re-book your tour on another date based on availability.
Guests cancelling their tour reservations 48 hours or more prior to departure are eligible to receive a full refund or can elect to re-book the tour on another date based on availability.
Trip Protection
For a small fee Trip Protection can be added to any booking allowing cancellation up to just 1 hour prior to departure! Trip Protection can be purchased at check-out.
Guests not purchasing Trip Protection and cancelling their tour reservations less than 48 hours prior to departure are not eligible for a refund and will forfeit 100% of their payment.
